The great contradiction of the consumption society is the following: to survive, the industry has to produce more and more. It is only competitive producing more and cheaper. That implies fewer workers and more machines.
Let us attempt then in the paradox: less workers means more unemployment. To who is the inevitable increase of the production destined then? Here is a simple form of illustrating the problem: every day the industry produces for newer 100 consumers... which costs 100 new unemployed unable to consume!
How is this contradiction solved?

NEXT PALADINS OF THE PROLETARIAT
The future champions in the fight for the human rights, for more incredible than it seems, won't be nor the socialist movements, the church or the democratic parties, but (probably after some more social convulsions) the great industry, the banking, and the international nets of commercial distribution.
Such fight will have nothing to do with the actual model of protection of the lower classes. The great world producers forced to demand a just and equal distribution of the wealth would hold it. Only way of supplying to those that today consumes nothing, the necessary elementary ways to buy the continued production flow of an intensely manufacturer society.
The producing societies and the consumption societies
It is today permanently present, in the subconscious of each citizen, the rupture inevitability of the actual Western economical system. Such conviction comes of the elementary evidence that the system entered in contraction, having already reached its maximum limit of labour absorption.
The system has been working based in the competition among manufacturers of similar products, forcing them, in a fight for the survival, to presenting a product with the same quality, for an inferior price of its direct competitor. Which means that each competitor will have to produce a little more, so that the price is a little smaller.
We have there, than the great contradiction of the system. A competitive product is today the result of a strong bet in machinery. (Understanding such as the substitution for machines of high profitability a significant part of the human labour, expensive, with periods for vacations, lunchtimes, shifts, social attendance, childbirth licenses, etc.) It is attended, as consequence, to the massive workers unemployment in all production areas. The massive production is then responsible to the daily unemployment of thousands of workers and in short time limits the potentials final consumers and in consequence the excess of production of the companies producing for internal markets. These companies, forced to dismiss more employers will finish suffocated, with the consequent perch of its market shares in favour of a natural managerial cannibalism.
Since that these are the presuppositions of the competitive production, it won't remain to the companies in compression phase other solution that its extinction or absorption.
In a way probably not so lineal, we everybody felt the existence of this contradiction. Without shimmering a solution, we recognise however, the impossibility of staying longer in a system that always produces more, wildly more, for a number of consumers smaller every time. Almost everybody possessed televisions, radios, automobiles, etc. I mean us consumers. We represent less than 40% of the total population of the globe. We, the ones that are not working in a precarious way and are reasonably paid. We that are not reformed with survival pensions, we are the only target of all manufacturers. Our houses are full of technology; our highways are a permanent nightmare. Our drawers are full up of useless gadgets.
The terminal populations
The remaining of the world population it hardly consumes. They not only mean nothing for the producing system, as also they represent a formidable hungry mass of people screaming its rights to a worthy existence. Meanwhile they destroy indiscriminately the limited resources of the earth, wasting away their forces in mutinies and obliging governments to a formidable expenditure of resources in safety and armaments. 60% of the world population are very little interested in the latest digital technology and less in the virtuosity of a simple microwave. We, from now on, designate them as terminal populations. They are limited to survival; their countries only have to export their mineral resources and slavery labour.
Consuming societies
The coming of the new technologies brought the specialisation and the creativity. The bet went then to the spent of vast resources in research and education. The first big split of the Western societies: the ones that adopted the posture of benefiting of the advantages of external discoveries, and the ones that consumed formidable means in research, formation and importation of brains. The first ones, that not only will never recover of the technological delay, as they won't cease of increasing the existent ditch, they will drop unavoidably in a posterior phase in the group of the terminal nations. Let us designate them of consuming societies. Its inflation and foreign transactions is a permanent puzzle for any minister of the finances.
Producing societies
We can count by the fingers of the hands the number of countries that, due to conjunctures still not well analysed, insisted research and handling of new products. These are the producing societies who, today, define the internal orientation of the consuming societies, delineating systematic and comprehensibly the political for the most different and contradictory political systems. They limit the margin of decision of the respective governors, doing of these governors' mere transmission belts of its purposes, which, in this incipient phase of the process, are basically the expansion of its productions and advantageous buys of minerals. In a first glance it is easy to understand that under the same great economical power, we meet dictators but monarchs, liberal, conservatives or socialists rulers. All the great gentlemen of the terminal societies and of the consuming societies, are all entirely depending on the manufactures that generate goods. As well as they depend of the great finance market, with which they negotiate the access to its purchase.
Entirely dedicated to the competition in the florescent and viable markets, the big industry completely ignores the terminal societies, and they flee badly those denoting symptoms of close gone down.
They leave in the hands of internal polices the repression and contention, while waiting that its politicians find a solution for such 60% of the world population. Population that, in an optical of consumption, is hopelessly unrecoverable, useless. Oxygen consumer and big responsible for the messy pollution and progressive destruction of the short natural resources of the planet.
Absolutely superfluous these 60% of us.
Although it is not a common theme of discussion among the great managers - the owners of the world - it is plausible to admit that the solution, (for them inevitable), will, one day, pass by its extermination without pain, through a process not very distant of sterilisation.
The whole XX century will be marked for the interdependence and collusion, for merely economical reasons, among the myriad of dictators that populates the planet and the big industry lacking of the resources under their control. Its support to ferocious wealth accumulators are easily justified, since the markets, in which, later on, they place its products, has nothing to do with the hunger masses of people produced by such dictators.
It is then advantageous to transact a hundred tons of copper extracted with a whip, for any deluxe automobile. The terminal societies come representing for the Occident a mere lie of raw minerals paid in a very low price. So much low as the system forces to offer us (while consumers) a competitive product.
The universal panacea
Also in the consuming societies it is also visible the natural anthropophagy of the producing societies accentuating the ditch among them. Those who lose its cheap minerals vendors, they fall back upon a trick that the "great brains" of its economical systems classify of inevitable: the reduction of the its workers' remuneration, as counterbalance at the final cost of the product. Today the consumption societies live this permanent dilemma: unable to compete with the producing societies, subjected to successive dumping, is without resources. Without its traditional markets (now in the hands of producing societies), they are come in the contingency from closing the doors or, as subsistence compensation, reduce its respective working populations with the inherent social costs. It is completed; finally, the cycle of the populations with reduced access to the consumption, unable to sustain the same productive machine that sustains them. No money no consummation. If we don't consume why are we producing? If we are not producing, what serves to maintain the remaining workers?
It's first cycle. The one that transforms societies dazzled by the indiscriminate consumption of the foreign production, in beggars forced to deprive of its reservations, of every valuable goods including the moral values, (the corruption is quite so a typical phenomena) alienating its territory to the speculation and interest. The formerly happy and foolish consuming society, resembles now dangerously, to the inconsequent users of credit cards that, suddenly, discover their bankruptcy, shamefully in the hands of the banks that gave them the firewood with which they where burned.
Thousands of individual societies of consumption were mortgaging to the bank its suburban apartments.
The working classes, in this phase, see their boss as its great enemy: He explores its efforts paying with short remuneration. The bosses, for its part, see the working classes as a recurrent nightmare presenting to them on each end of month. Before announcing the impossibility of satisfying its commitments to the workers, he falls back upon the habitual subterfuges, which includes the non-payment to the government and social safety systems the due contributions. Worsening in a drastic way the access to the consumption of many other groups. The government then forced to a permanent injection of funds in the systems, together with the permanent drop of the workers-retired ratio of population, will feel a natural tendency for the court in the real value of the pensions. Those, together with similar measures, that should be taken in several and important domains, as health system, education they can only take to the indisposition that is the approach to the passage to the state of terminal society. (The educational system unknown its first function: must not just form citizens for a very competitive labour market, but still, selective and illuminated consumers. Capable for its intervention, of preserving the system to the indiscriminate production dumping of the of the great manufactures, that leans on, in the uncultured societies, in primary rules of marketing that seduce for the dazzle)
The second cycle
Each consuming society that drops represents a rude blow in the great industrial tissue, limiting the dumping of its production. The producing societies, because they act separately, they don't understand that, gradually, they are corner in the own back yard. As it is not still an insoluble problem, which they know never to solve directly and separately in any way, they look in a more energetic way to the remaining markets, now in the hands of its competition partners. While remaining a consuming society, it is for there that the efforts of marketing of all the producers will converge.
However, unavoidably, it will arrive the day in which the costs of marketing to seduce the few available consumers will become unbearable. They then finally discovery of a vast market desirous of consuming that doesn't only make it because the respective systems don't allow them.
Not worried with the apparent likeness of the action that they will undertake with the Marxist social systems, two powerful groups of interests will be compelled to unite efforts: the industry and the banking.
This last one that picked the enormous resulting benefits of the inconsequent use of the "credit card", becoming the landlord, not of a suburban apartment, but of the whole city, will soon discover the inability to transform the countless properties in money. Once again, they won't find who consummates the product they offering, worsened with the possibility of coming still to receive, once again as payment of its credits, the own great industries without solutions. Sad and delirious destiny the one of being owner of the ruins of a civilisation.
The solution will be then easy to find it is necessary to exterminate all the tendencies for the usury. Giving some money to those without resources. The old revolutionary maxim will be increased then with more any thing: " To each one according to its needs, so that we can dump our production ". The "Capital" will remove of the political power the class that previously had protected. They that they are unable to absorb the foundations of the new dynamics. They substitute them by technicians and managers able to find any escape to the beginning of the equal distribution of the resources.
In market logic, resource is all the accumulated money just seeking its reproduction and maintenance.
The functions of the money are just the ones of buying the work and its result.
It will be the end of the welfare system With money in the pockets nobody needs the public institutions of solidarity. The private ones have for who to produce, competing to each other in quality and in price. The state will have where to collect its taxes. The first function of the tax is the one of removing all the surpluses - and only the surpluses - applying them in the common thing.
Today
The only salvation board today that can seize the consuming societies, to avoid one day to fall into terminal societies, goes by the total change of the respective political ideas.
The demagogy that encourages its rulers and the impossible goals that they intend to reach, take them to deny the inevitability of the collapse. (As ridiculous as the one of trying to come to seize the " front " group, with his technological knowledge, investing in research, formation and post-formation, inferior budgets that are used by any pharmaceutical multinational for the preparation of a new syrup).
Each new ruler that enters, will find more difficulties which are in itself, the reason of being of the whole political divergence, he will spend is time in the insane search of panaceas for each new pustule, that springs from a society in exponential contraction.
Without time, not even perspective to prepare the future.
The secret for the success of the consumption society, after all, we owed it to Marx:
Only an equal distribution can satisfy the proletariat in its elementary needs, because only them, and in this way, it will be capable to absorb the product of a society that in a market logic, is forced to produce unceasingly.
The new and inevitable God-consumption, capable to even the societies, will substitute in the men's heart all the religions and ideologies, already without neither voice nor sense, that didn't know how to be with them nor to understand its passions.
